It opened its first full-service station in 1927 and transitioned to the Shell brand in 1928. In 1940, the company opened a Gulf Oil Plant, followed by the launch of its Edisto Gas propane division in 1949. The business moved to its current Beltline Blvd location in 1954, becoming a Phillips 66 distributor and converting 84 Gulf Oil locations to Phillips 66 within 24 hours. It became the first Phillips 66 distributor to exceed 1,000,000 gallons monthly in December 1955. The company opened its first remote propane office in Orangeburg, SC, in 1964 and introduced the Gaz-Bah Mini Shop in 1975.
