Fishy Business of Columbia

Fishy Business is a tropical fish store in Columbia, SC. It operates as SC’s largest aquarium store, offering a selection of freshwater and saltwater fish, live plants, corals, foods, and equipment. The business provides design, installation, and full-service aquarium maintenance for homes, offices, and businesses, ranging from nano tanks to large feature displays. Its service area covers much of the Midlands, including Columbia, Lexington, Irmo, West Columbia, and Cayce. The store holds a rating of 4.70 based on 907 reviews.

The 10,000 square foot facility features hundreds of display tanks, dedicated coral and plant systems, and staff who focus on education and long-term success rather than quick sales. The team helps customers choose equipment and livestock that match their experience level, recommending smaller, stable tanks over oversold systems that become a chore. They assist with planning, installing, and cycling new systems, then guide customers through their first livestock additions. Professional maintenance services include water changes, cleaning, and health checks for residential and commercial systems.

The staff includes specialists in community tanks, cichlids, reef systems, saltwater invertebrates, and live plants. They provide honest advice and realistic stocking plans, supporting customers with questions, maintenance, and upgrades after the sale. Whether helping beginners start with simple equipment or guiding advanced hobbyists through complex reef setups, the team aims to build aquariums that customers enjoy for the long term.

Fishy Business has built a strong local reputation through its large base of customer reviews and consistently high ratings. The business is known for its extensive inventory and the expertise of its staff, who help hobbyists across SC build and maintain thriving aquariums.

With decades of experience serving the Midlands, Fishy Business combines a massive selection of aquarium supplies with professional installation and maintenance to help Columbia residents and businesses enjoy beautiful, healthy aquatic displays.

Located on Bush River Road, the store sits about a tenth of a mile from the road itself and roughly 0.4 miles from Dutch Square Mall.
