Chesapeake Dog Training, LLC

Chesapeake Dog Training, LLC is a dog training business in Arnold, MD, located at 1307 President St. The company provides private lessons and Board & Train services for Annapolis and surrounding areas, holding a 4.90 rating based on customer reviews.

The business was founded in 2009 by Linda Stallings, who drew on an academic background in Animal Science and practical experience in vet hospitals, zoos, farms, and other dog training companies to create a program combining the best aspects of these fields. The staff consists of animal care professionals with diverse backgrounds, including zoo keeping, management of exotic animals, and veterinary work. Trainers use a blend of rewards and correction to shape behaviors and build communication between owners and their pets, developing individualized training programs for each dog and owner to create stable, happy family pets.

In 2014, Chesapeake Dog Training began consulting with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to create training and socialization programs for difficult-to-adopt dogs, gaining insight into shelter dog behavior and surrender reasons. The company launched its Board & Train program in 2015. In 2019, the company opened an indoor facility in Millersville, Maryland, which hosted group classes, daycare, and specialized programs. Trainer Paula Blair launched a comprehensive Puppy Program that helped over 400 puppies, while Lindy Burkhart created a Nosework and Scentwork program that delivered lectures and honed scent detection skills for hundreds of dog-owner pairs. The Millersville space also hosted AKC Canine Good Citizen tests.

When the Millersville lease expired in 2024, the staff closed that location to focus on the individualized Board & Train program at the Annapolis location, which remains the heart of the company. Services include Pack Walks for leash walking manners, specialized training for puppies in their first year, and personalized plans. The business aims to create a community of like-minded dog owners and serves as a continual resource for training progress.

Chesapeake Dog Training combines Linda Stallings’ unique approach with a team of passionate professionals to deliver effective, individualized dog training solutions in Arnold, MD.
