Berkshire Humane Society

Berkshire Humane Society is an animal hospital and nonprofit shelter in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Serving Berkshire County and the surrounding areas, this open-admission facility provides essential services including a wellness clinic for accessible preventive pet care, low-cost spay and neuter programs, and a pet food bank for owners facing financial hardship. The organization also manages a community cat program and a free foster care program known as SafePet to assist owners in crisis.

Since 1992, the organization has operated as a private, socially conscious shelter, having cared for over 57,000 homeless animals. As an open-admission shelter, they accept all companion animals regardless of age, breed, temperament, or health condition, and they successfully rehome 100% of their adoptable animals.
