This planning includes a discovery meeting and assistance with crafting timelines, typically lasting six hours for receptions or seven hours when a ceremony is included. DJs arrive two to three hours before the contracted start time to set up and contact vendors. The company retains one DJ per weekend as a backup for emergencies. Clients use an online planning system to create request lists, specify songs to play or avoid, and manage payments. A 40 percent deposit is required at booking, with the remaining balance due 30 days prior to the event. Clients may provide their own music files in advance. The company does not include gratuity in the contract price, though 10 to 20 percent is generally recommended.
