What Ales You is a bar in Burlington, VT. The long-standing downtown Burlington college bar, owned by Syd Eren, is relocating from its St. Paul Street basement to a new spot around the block. Eren hopes to open in the former home of Manhattan Pizza & Pub the week of August 25, where the bar will serve a full menu, including pizza, to keep his Burlington business viable.

The move was announced on social media, with Eren confirming he would continue serving for another week or so in the original bar location. The new space will be on the corner of Church and Main streets. The original What Ales You location on St. Paul Street has been a fixture of the downtown Burlington college bar scene for 54 years.

The new location sits on Main Street, just steps from the Church Street Marketplace, the Flynn Theatre, and Burlington City Hall, with the Chittenden County Courthouse about a tenth of a mile away.
