Mark Gottschalk – Thrivent of Richmond

Mark Gottschalk - Thrivent is a Financial Planner in Richmond, VA.

Mark Gottschalk creates contemporary works through FinPointe, featuring stylized wall art and fish designs. His artistic approach explores transparent liquid color, utilizing brilliant hues blended into crystal clear resin to maintain a liquid appearance once set. His pieces emphasize streamlined forms, clean shapes, and simple lines inspired by the Art Deco movement. The collection includes mahogany and polished metal sculptures, such as large-scale sailfish, tarpon, and roosterfish, which are reminiscent of mid-century wooden power boats. His process involves using computerized machinery to laminate wood shapes, which are then finished by hand. He also utilizes machined, polished, or brushed aluminum and bold transparent pigments.
