Neither had prior farming or wine-making experience; Scott is a chemical engineer and Dawn worked in the design and events industry. Under their ownership, the winery has expanded to include on-site beer brewing, handcrafted pizzas, new guest experiences, and Crown Cottages.

Reservations are required for tours and special events, but not for visiting the tasting rooms during regular business hours. The winery also operates a satellite tasting room in the heart of historic Leipers Fork, Tennessee, which offers creekside views and the surroundings of a quaint village.
