The team, led by Todd, holds a Mississippi State Tree Surgery license (#MSLT740), ensuring professional methods for safely dismantling hazardous trees without risking property or power lines. They utilize specialized equipment, including cranes for emergency tree removal, to handle fallen trees that block driveways or sidewalks. The crew is available 24/7 for weather emergencies and works to stabilize immediate hazards quickly. Their services involve complex rigging and physics to avoid damage, and they protect property, such as concrete, with thick plywood during heavy machinery operations.

Southern Tree Surgery recommends stump grinding to mechanically obliterate root bases, reclaiming yard space and eliminating tripping hazards or pest nesting sites caused by rot or regrowth. They distinguish between pruning, which involves selective removal of dead or crossing branches to improve health, and topping, a drastic measure they avoid in favor of strategic trimming for long-term structural integrity. They identify hazard limbs that act as sails during high winds to prevent uprooting. The company assists homeowners by documenting damage and providing technical reports for insurance adjusters.

Customers have highlighted the team's professionalism, timeliness, and meticulous cleanup. Reviews note quick responses for estimates, same-day quotes, and efficient scheduling. Clients have praised the removal of large trees, including dead water oaks and diseased specimens, as well as the grinding of multiple stumps in short timeframes.
