Students follow a detailed code of etiquette covering bowing, addressing instructors and blackbelts, lining up by rank, and uniform standards, including how to tie a belt correctly, which is a requirement to advance in rank. Uniforms, equipment, and weapons are purchased through the dojo. The school also fields Team Dojo, a competition group chosen by Sensei Pena and Ms. Merchant that trains extra and competes on the TCT Sport Martial Arts circuit, and it maintains a video library documenting its history. Monthly newsletters, calendars, and rank tests are part of the schedule.
