Little Mozart Music Program

Little Mozart Music Program is a Music Education Program in North Charleston, SC. It operates as a partnership between East Cooper Montessori Charter School and Charleston International Music School, providing year-round music instruction directly on the school campus. The program serves students of East Cooper Montessori Charter School, eliminating the need for after-school travel by integrating high-quality music education into the school day.

The curriculum offers both group and private classes. Group sessions consist of 60-minute lessons held once a week, requiring a minimum of four registered students; if this number is not met, the class converts to private lessons. Private instruction is available after 4:00 p.m., with lesson durations of 30, 45, or 60 minutes scheduled based on instructor availability. The program emphasizes the development of confidence, resilience, leadership, self-discipline, and an appreciation for beauty. Students engage in practice routines, structured lessons, and customized repertoire, with opportunities to showcase their talents through recitals, concerts, and competitions. The educational philosophy is rooted in the experience of founder and concert violinist Ruben Camacho, who was trained in the El Sistema program in Venezuela and later studied at The Juilliard School in New York and the Paris Conservatory in France. The faculty provides mentorship and performance opportunities, aiming to unlock the full potential of each student through a supportive and encouraging environment.
