The program is part of Horry County Adult Education, which serves adults outside the K-12 setting who are working toward their educational goals. Instruction is offered at two base sites, in Conway and Myrtle Beach, along with virtual and satellite options. Programs include Adult Basic Education, ESL, GED preparation, and high school diploma coursework. GED students work with College and Career Navigators to plan classes around their schedules. The Family Literacy program runs Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm, with free childcare provided during that time for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years who are not yet enrolled in school. Students can take ServSafe Food Handler and Manager classes at no cost, and can meet with Horry Georgetown Technical College representatives to plan their next step. Registration opens August 19th from 8am to 4pm and runs daily throughout the year during business hours. ABE and ESL classes begin August 24th, and the regular schedule of 8am to 8pm starts August 31st. GED and high school diploma classes meet Monday through Thursday from 8am to 8pm and Fridays from 8am to 2pm. ESL classes run mornings Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm and evenings Monday through Thursday from 5pm to 8pm. The program also hosts an Entrepreneurship Fair for students with small businesses.
