Heritage Fields Farm LLC

Heritage Fields Farm LLC is a fruit and vegetable store in Irmo, SC, located at 10259 Broad River Rd. Established in the summer of 1999 by David Derrick, who was 14 years old at the time, the business began with just two rows of tomatoes in his mother’s garden. After over two decades of continuous growth, David now cultivates more than 40 acres of vegetables, growing more than 30 different types of produce during all months of the year. Everything is picked fresh daily from the fields and sold at a free-standing building on Broad River Rd. The farm serves the community with a goal of providing fresh local produce at a reasonable price.

David farms using the practice of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), an approach designed to greatly reduce the use of pesticides through crop rotation, the use of beneficial insects, and the use of disease-resistant cultivars. The vegetable building is open daily in the summer and every other day in the winter, fall, and spring. Hours are subject to change, so customers are advised to call (803) 764-7280 to confirm operating times before visiting. Holiday hours may vary.

Across the road from the produce building, the property features Dot’s Iris Garden, which offers a selection of 800 iris varieties available each April through May. Charles also creates unique items on the forge, including coat hangers, oyster shuckers, and custom metal work, alongside unique and handmade seasonal crafts available throughout the year. Customers have praised the heirloom tomatoes, baked cakes, and the friendly, helpful staff. The farm holds a rating of 4.70 based on 174 reviews, reflecting a strong local reputation and an established track record built on a large base of customer feedback.
