Unity Health on Main

Unity Health on Main is a family practice physician in Greenville, SC. It operates as a community health center providing pediatrics, women’s health, family practice, behavioral health, and case management services. The center was formed in 2016 in response to community needs assessments that identified access to healthcare as a primary priority, serving the Medically Underserved Area of Greenville County. Its mission is to reduce area health disparities by offering culturally competent, client-driven primary care in a location accessible to public transportation.

The practice is led by grassroots community volunteers and supported by fundraising, community grants, and donations. Services include routine and preventive pediatric care, such as well-child exams, immunizations, growth and development assessments, and sports physicals. Women’s health services cover family planning, prenatal care, annual exams, pap smears, and screening and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases. The team also manages chronic conditions like diabetes, cholesterol, and hypertension, and provides behavioral health support through assessment, counseling, therapy, and medication management. Walk-in and same-day appointments are available for established patients.

Since its inception, the center has served thousands of individuals and families, with over 2,300 patients seeking services largely through word-of-mouth. Bilingual support staff help build trust within the community. A sliding scale program makes healthcare accessible to those with financial challenges, particularly parents without insurance. In January 2024, Unity Health on Main was designated a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-alike, with plans to become a fully-fledged Federally Qualified Health Center in 2025. The center is a Best Chance Network Provider and part of the ChooseWell network.

Located at 505 N Main Street, Suite C, the center serves as a local resource for comprehensive, affordable primary care in Greenville.
