Run a free full auditHarmony House is a halfway house in Greenville, SC. It serves as the women’s program for The Turning Point of SC, a nonprofit organization that provides residential drug addiction treatment and recovery. The facility offers a structured, safe, and secure residential setting where individuals may recover from substance addiction physically, mentally, and spiritually. Residents receive support to remove obstacles hindering recovery, reconnect with their families and community, maintain employment, and restore relationships.
The Turning Point of SC was started in 1995 by Mr. Fred, who had 26 years of sobriety and was active in AA and the Unity church. After a varied and successful business career, he moved to Greenville with a desire to help others. The program began in a three-bedroom apartment with one small car and grew into a 45-bed residential program with the help of his son, Dr. Ric, and friends in the AA and church communities. In 2002, a new facility was acquired that was able to house 150 men, and Turning Point of Greenville was born. Mr. Fred and Dr. Ric’s philosophy was to remove obstacles hindering recovery in addiction treatment while providing a safe living environment.
Since 1995, The Turning Point has seen over ten thousand people gain a new start in life. The organization maintains several transitional sober living facilities, including the Milestone Houses and Harmony House for women. The Recovery Meeting Center, a longtime dream of Mr. Fred’s, was finished and opened in the spring of 2015. Mr. Fred passed away on June 8, 2011, but his spirit and legacy continue through the efforts of the dedicated people staffing and supporting The Turning Point. His passion and vision still guide all who seek refuge.
