Camp Joy

Camp Joy is a Children’s camp in Greenville, SC. It operates as a co‑ed Christian camp that serves children and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization runs multiple summer sessions in five southeastern locations, including North Carolina, SC, Florida, Virginia and Tennessee, providing a week‑long camp experience that combines recreation with faith‑based instruction. Founded in 1980 by Mrs. Ann Brice and Frances Sanders, Camp Joy is coordinated by the Brice‑Sanders Foundation and functions as a ministry of the ARP church. The camp began with 13 counselors and nine campers and has grown to serve hundreds of participants each summer across its various sites. Its mission is to enable campers to feel loved, accepted, and to experience the love of Christ, while its philosophy emphasizes inclusive participation and the modeling of Christ‑like traits by staff. Leadership includes Executive Director Jeff Lesslie, Supervising Clinician Dr. Jack Faircloth, and a team of co‑directors overseeing each regional location.

Camp Joy’s Greenville office is located on S Pleasantburg Dr. It sits just off South Pleasantburg Drive and is a short walk from Washington Center School (about 0.1 mile) and Sara Collins Elementary School (about 0.2 mile). The Riverside Golf Course lies roughly half a mile away, while the Bowlero sports center and Mauldin Road are each about 0.7 mile from the campus.
