Jennifer Perkins is a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant and licensed Massage and Body Work Therapist who specializes in pain reduction through trigger point, sports, and deep tissue massage. She communicates with clients to identify pain points and ensures pressure is sufficient for their needs. Her goal for each session is to prevent injuries, improve performance in daily activities, and keep bodies moving with reduced pain and increased mobility. She was drawn to manual healing therapy after breaking her legs in 18 places in an auto accident. Today, she is active in mountain and road biking, hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, and weight lifting, all pain-free.

Perkins has worked with Clemson Football for the past four seasons and with the Greenville Swamp Rabbit Hockey team. She has also provided care for home-bound injured people with various hardships and mobility issues, assisting and motivating people to become mobile from being wheelchair-bound and bedridden through strengthening, balance, and massage techniques.

Trigger point therapy targets hypersensitive areas of muscle caused by overuse or strain. Direct pressure applied to these contracted or knotted areas reduces pain after approximately 10-15 seconds, allowing increased circulation to promote healing. Sports massage prepares athletes for peak performance by reducing fatigue and tension, promoting flexibility, and preventing injury, usually performed at least two days prior to an event or post-event for pain relief. Deep tissue massage uses direct pressure from fingers or elbows with friction to release strain in superficial and deep muscle layers, balancing the musculoskeletal and nervous system to relieve chronic pain.

Clients report tangible pain relief and improved range of motion after sessions. The therapy room overlooks a pond. Perkins has a solid reputation among the customers she has served.

Aktivere Sports Massage sits at 850C Wade Hampton Blvd Suite 1-C, situated on Wade Hampton Boulevard about a tenth of a mile from Highview Townes and a quarter mile from Majesty Music Academy.
