Tableau on King is a second act for owners Sandra and Phil Ericksen, who have lived in the Lowcountry since 1998. Phil previously worked in healthcare for decades, while Sandra owned a boutique interior design firm in Charleston for over 25 years. They were inspired to open the store, formerly the Polish Pottery Gallery of Charleston, by the way Polish pottery enhances a tablescape. Sandra uses her design background to help customers create picturesque scenes with their tableware.

The store maintains a solid reputation among the customers it has served. This standing reflects the quality of the distinctive items and the expertise of the owners in helping shoppers select pieces for their homes.
