Marsh & Magnolia | A Custom Hat Experience is a hat shop in Charleston, SC. The boutique offers a personalized hat‑making experience where guests work one‑on‑one with a skilled hat stylist to create a one‑of‑a‑kind felt or straw hat. Tailored to the Lowcountry lifestyle, the service welcomes women, men and children and is marketed for birthday parties, date nights, company events, bridal parties, mommy‑and‑me outings, team bonding and girlfriend getaways.
Located on the street level of the Hotel Bennett at 404 King St, Suite 101, Marsh & Magnolia emphasizes the highest quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship. Private‑label felt hats are handcrafted in the USA by a fourth‑generation hat maker, while the straw hats are ethically sourced from artisans in Central and South America. The shop features two felt collections, the Luxe, an open‑crown beaver‑felt style available in seven core colors, and the Standard, a pre‑shaped wool tracker‑style, and five straw styles named the Wanderer, Traveller, Boater, Drifter and Adventurer. Guests can customize their creations with hat bands, ribbons, stitching, pins, charms, feathers and branding, and enjoy a complimentary local beverage at the hat bar while their hat is shaped and steamed. Limited‑drop collections are released throughout the year to complement the coastal aesthetic.
The shop sits on King St, just steps from the main thoroughfare of King Street. It is a short walk, about a tenth of a mile, from several downtown landmarks, including the Board of Field Officers of the Fourth Brigade memorial, The Liberty Trail memorial, Charleston Music Hall, the King Street Design District and the Charleston Farmers Market.
