Maddison Row South is an exclusive Charleston retailer for a number of bridal designers. Gowns cover ethereal lace, sleek satin, and embellishments, and the collection includes styles suited to grand ballroom weddings, romantic garden ceremonies, and intimate beachside vow exchanges. Experienced stylists provide one-on-one consultations in a private appointment, with guidance on fit, fabric, and finishing touches; standard bridal appointments last 90 minutes. The boutique also offers a curated selection of veils, jewelry, and headpieces, and can schedule alteration appointments or help source out-of-house alterations partners, which should begin 8 to 12 weeks before a wedding. Gowns should be allowed at least 6 months to arrive, with a total timeline of 8 to 10 months before the wedding day. Bella Bridesmaids, a separate boutique, occupies the upstairs of the same historic building, allowing bridal parties to outfit bridesmaids, flower girls, and mothers with a separate appointment. The boutique is owned by Ann E. Rice Ervin and Lisa S. Rice. Ann E. married her high school sweetheart, Tucker Ervin, on May 23, 2009, weeks after graduating from the University of SC School of Law, and relied on her mother Lisa's artistic vision and event expertise to bring the day together. In 2016, Ann E. and Lisa partnered with Michelle Miller of Southern Protocol Boutique, rebranding as Southern Protocol Bridal, and in 2019 merged with Maddison Row Bridal Chic, bringing on stylist Lindsey Principi. Lindsey has over 14 years in bridal fashion, graduated from the College of Charleston, began her career in Colorado Springs, and worked at Bridals by Lori in Atlanta before becoming Manager and Buyer at Maddison Row Bridal Chic, where her leadership earned recognition including being named one of the Top 50 Bridal Salons in the USA by BRIDES Magazine. Lissie, a former bridal stylist at Bella Bridesmaids Charleston with nearly a decade in the wedding fashion industry, also styles at the boutique. Maddison Row South sits on Vanderhorst Street in downtown Charleston, steps from King Street and about 0.1 miles from the King Street Design District, the Board of Field Officers of the Fourth Brigade memorial, the Charleston Music Hall, The Liberty Trail, and the Department of Public Safety.
