Jessie Randall founded Loeffler Randall with her husband, Brian, in their Cobble Hill apartment in 2004. Over twenty years later, the company remains family-owned. The brand designs items in a sun-lit office in the heart of SoHo, NYC, with the intention that each piece be loved and lived in for years. The design process is notably hands-on: the team creates an average of 40 hand mock-ups for each collection, and the signature Penny heel contains over 400 pleats and requires 28 individual steps to make. Products are made in small batches with the aim of selling out each season. Since the grand opening of the SoHo flagship in 2021, the company has added stores in Charleston, Nashville, and New York's West Village, each featuring curved curtain walls meant to mimic the brand's iconic pleats, along with Zellige tiles and Murano light fixtures. The stores offer in-person services including proper measuring, styling consultations, and bridal appointments for choosing wedding shoes. The company also contributes a portion of sales and compiles customer donations to support charities and non-profits such as the ACLU, God's Love We Deliver, The Trevor Project, Apex For Youth, Heart of Dinner, the Marsha P. Johnson Institute, and Black Lives Matter.
