Students from the College of Charleston and the Culinary Institute of Charleston gain experience in strategic communications, event planning, logistics, marketing, and culinary support through fellowships and internships. The organization also partners with One80 Place Training to provide paid externships for graduates and enrollees in culinary operations. Ninety cents of every dollar spent producing the festival has a direct measurable impact on the city’s economy. The 2023 festival involved over 500 local businesses and hired nearly 200 independent contractors. The organization also offers Friends of the Festival memberships that include early access to tickets and discounts on festival merchandise.
