The company traces its roots to 1900 on the Northside of Pittsburgh, where it initially served customers via a chain-drawn truck and later horse-drawn buggies using an air compression method. In 1928, the business moved to its current location at 1001 Constance Street. It developed a unique multi-step cleaning process and employs expert craftspeople, master weavers, and highly experienced service technicians. The staff includes multiple generations of family members, creating a family atmosphere. Owner Ken Ashtari and his team bring over 80 years of experience to carpet projects. Before starting any work, the team evaluates the age, origin, and condition of items to explain the cleaning process, repair recommendations, and costs, aiming to return items to their original condition. In 2000, readers of Pittsburgh Magazine named the business the Best of the Burgh for Oriental Carpet Cleaning. The company previously operated additional locations in Squirrel Hill and Mt. Lebanon but closed those showrooms in 2024 to focus on the Northside location.
