Founded in 1997 by Heather (Fiel) Healey, a University of Oklahoma graduate and skilled instructor from Gage, OK, the school has been devoted to dance for 27 years. Programs are divided by age and ability, with limited class sizes to ensure productive learning and high teaching standards. All classes begin with a warm-up, barre, center work, and progressions across the floor, focusing on correct body placement. Combination dance classes develop gross motor skills and become more advanced as the child’s age and ability develop. Ballet classes focus on classical technique at the barre, center, and across the floor, preparing students for the December Holiday Show and May Recital. Pointe classes are available for Levels 5 and up and must be taken with another ballet class.

Tap classes develop musicality, rhythm, and technique, while Jazz ranges from Broadway to contemporary and jazz funk. Hip Hop classes feature age-appropriate complex arm and footwork. Acrobatic classes focus on tricks such as aerials, walk-overs, and handsprings using mats and spotting assistance, though this technique-only class does not feature in performances. Lyrical dance incorporates ballet, jazz, and contemporary styles to develop an emotional connection to music. The DIVA COMPANY mission is to ignite passion for dance and promote confidence, self-expression, and community. Company members train in ballet, tap, and jazz, and each dancer and parent signs a contract for the August-July season. The studio emphasizes mutual respect and builds strong technique in the first semester for presentation at the Spring Recital.
