Canine Academy Columbus

Canine Academy Columbus is a dog training business in Circleville, OH, located at 332 Mt Zion Rd NW. It holds a 5.00 rating based on 457 reviews. The facility provides various training programs including basic obedience, puppy socialization, reactivity management, and public access training. They serve clients throughout Central Ohio through their main campus and via in-home lessons in the Columbus and Lancaster regions.

The training methodology is centered on positive E collar training, which utilizes low-level stimulation to act as a communication signal between the owner and the dog without causing pain or discomfort. This approach is designed to build confidence and manage behaviors such as separation anxiety, fear-based aggression, and reactivity. With over 30 years of experience, the trainers have worked with more than 1,000 dogs of all ages, breeds, and sizes.

The academy offers several distinct program structures. Board and train programs, such as the Basic Obedience Camp, involve an intensive residential stay where dogs work 1:1 with a dedicated trainer to master commands like heel, stay, and recall. These programs include a 90-day follow-up period and lifetime support. For owners preferring interactive learning, small group lessons and backyard lessons are available to build handler skills and reinforce habits at home. Puppy-specific services include Puppy Foundations group classes for crate training and housebreaking, as well as stay and train programs for socialization and managing puppy behaviors. Specialized programs are also available for dogs requiring behavior management for anxiety or aggression, as well as public access training for dogs intended to navigate busy environments like elevators and escalators.

Canine Academy Columbus is recognized for its professional training methods and was featured by Bloomberg as the World's Greatest Dog Trainer in 2023. Their high customer rating reflects a reputation for helping owners achieve reliable off-leash results.
