About Pine Lake Park Campground

Pine Lake Park Campground is a Lake Resort in Caroga Lake, NY. The property offers a public beach on Pine Lake, seasonal and overnight camping sites, and an event pavilion for weddings and gatherings. Amenities include a snack bar, ice cream, miniature golf, paddle boats, canoes, and kayaks. The resort is located about 15 minutes north of Gloversville in the Adirondacks.

The history of the site dates back to the early 1900s when the Wheeler-Chaflin Company operated a lumber mill on the lake. Frank Sherman built the original dam in 1908 and continued logging operations until his mill burned down in 1911. Joseph Groshans purchased the property in 1924 and created Groshans' Park, opening a dance hall that is now the Adirondack Paradise Pavilion. Robert Lord bought the 400-acre property in 1961, renovating the pavilion and reopening the amusement midway. William Brandau acquired the property in 1975, continuing operations of the amusement park, miniature golf, and beach. Donna Rush purchased Pine Lake Park in 1984, modernizing the pavilion and booking country and western performers including Tammy Wynette and Boxcar Willie.

The campground sits on Timberline Ln, about 0.2 miles from State Highway 10. It is located roughly 0.8 miles from Pine Lake, Kane Mountain, and the Kane Mountain Fire Observation Station. Pine Mountain and Mud Lake are each about 1.3 miles away.

Pine Lake Park Campground serves as a destination for day visitors, campers, and event hosts in the Caroga Lake area. The resort provides a range of recreational activities and lodging options within the Adirondack Mountains.
