Founded in the early 1900s by descendants of early Mays Landing settlers, Balić Winery traces its roots to Savo Balić, a vine-grower from the Adriatic Sea who acquired the 57-acre vineyard in 1966 to bring European winemaking traditions to America. In 1993, his nephew Bojan Boskovic, born in Belgrade and raised in Montenegro with deep family ties to wine production, joined the winery. Bojan, a trained wine technologist with international experience and a background in export and import, has worked side-by-side with Savo, blending European expertise with American innovation to maintain the authenticity and quality of the winery’s offerings.
