Gleason’s Jersey Shore is a partnership between Coach Jacklyn Atkins and New York’s iconic Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, owned by Bruce Silverglade. Atkins began volunteering at the Long Branch PAL Boxing Club in September 1999, assisting Navy Boxer Donald Lee. After Lee’s health declined, Atkins kept the program alive, moving it from the Annex school on Third Avenue to the old Gregory School on Joline Avenue, and later to the old Pearl Gym warehouse as enrollment grew to over 50 youth and families. In 2005, Atkins partnered with Silverglade to formalize the business, creating Gleason’s Jersey Shore Boxing gym and the New Jersey Give a Kid a Dream Program. The facility is a training center for USA Boxing amateurs, including youth, teen, adult, and Masters divisions.

The gym offers age-appropriate youth programs combining Olympic-style boxing technique with fitness and character development for ages 7 and up. Adult programs welcome all levels, from beginners to experienced fighters. Elite training includes small group memberships for adults 18 and older with accomplished trainers, including Boxing Hall of Famer Bobby Rooney, Jackie Atkins, and Superfoot Black Belt Karen Henderson. Competitive boxing preparation follows USA Boxing guidelines, and one-on-one sessions provide customized programming. The 5,000-square-foot facility features wood flooring, high ceilings, and an off-street entrance, and is available for rentals for media, private parties, and amateur fights.

The business maintains a 5.00 rating based on customer reviews. Coach Jacklyn Atkins has over 25 years of experience leading the program. The gym is known for its USA Boxing-certified coaches and its history of supporting local youth through boxing and mentorship.
