Givens Estates is a non-profit Life Plan Community, also known as a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), located on 215 acres in Asheville, North Carolina. For more than 40 years, the community has helped older adults lead engaged, purpose-driven lives. The first residents arrived in 1979, thanks to the generosity of Marion Givens and her husband, Dr. Maurice Givens. Mrs. Givens left 160 acres of her Asheville estate on Sweeten Creek Road with the stipulation it would be developed into a senior living retirement community. The Marion J. Givens Trust worked with leaders in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church to establish the campus. In 1979, the campus consisted of 78 one- and two-bedroom apartments within ten buildings, partly funded through HUD.

The community offers a continuum of care including independent living, in-home services, assisted living, skilled nursing, and short-term rehabilitative services. Dining options include The Social Brew, Market + Craft, and Terrene, which features chef-crafted dinners with seasonal ingredients. Residents may choose from a variety of interior finishes to customize their homes. Pets are welcome, with limits of two dogs or two cats per residence, and weight restrictions of 40 lbs for apartment locations and 70 lbs elsewhere. The community operates under a Type C contract regulated by the North Carolina Department of Insurance, meaning residents pay for health services as needed rather than pre-paying. Residents pay a one-time Entrance Fee and a Monthly Fee that includes weekly housekeeping, a monthly meal allowance, maintenance, groundskeeping, campus security, and scheduled transportation.
