The floral department operates under Schnuck Markets, Inc., a family-owned regional grocery company that has served customers for more than eight decades. The company was founded in north St. Louis in 1939 when Anna Donovan Schnuck opened the family’s first retail store, a confectionery. She was joined by her husband, Edwin, who had started a wholesale meat business in 1937. Their children Edward, Annette, and Donald expanded the enterprise, and by 1947, the families operated seven retail grocery stores. Edwin and his sons incorporated as Schnuck Markets, Inc. in 1952, leveraging their wholesale background to build outstanding meat departments. The company adopted the slogan “The Friendliest Stores In Town” in 1961, a reputation built on teammate courtesy. Schnucks became the first major food retailer in the St. Louis area to drop trading stamps in favor of lower prices through “The Price Revolution” campaign, introducing a friendly saluting soldier logo. The company grew rapidly, acquiring the Bettendorf-Rapp chain in 1970, which more than doubled its store count overnight.

Today, the company operates more than 100 stores across Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana. The floral department provides floral orders and delivery services.
