Founded in 2018 by Cindy Wacker, ReStored Thrift Store began after years of prayer and planning, opening its first Lakeville location with the support of a church family and a faithful board. The store operates as a Christ-centered ministry, using the thrift store model to provide resources and meet tangible needs while pointing people to a relationship with Jesus. Everything from the uplifting music played in-store to the way items are displayed is designed to reflect faith in action. The business is almost entirely volunteer-run, with no paychecks for staff, allowing volunteers to sort donations, pray with shoppers, and create a space filled with purpose.

Revenue generated from sales goes directly to support local and global ministries. The store maintains partnerships with organizations such as Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities, providing regular contributions that help fund food, clothing, shelter, and wraparound support programs for individuals struggling with homelessness. Shoppers can find great deals on high-quality secondhand items, and the store provides fact sheets at checkout that break down the proceeds given to each charity. Customers are encouraged to donate gently used items to give them a second life and help fund ministry work. The stores are noted for being clean, organized, and thoughtfully laid out, ensuring that thrifting feels welcoming rather than chaotic.

The business is recognized for its strong local reputation, reflected in consistently high customer ratings, and its established track record built on a large base of customer reviews. This standing is evidenced by the 176 reviews that highlight the store’s cleanliness, organization, and the meaningful impact of its donations.
