Operating as Mark Allen Editions, this boutique studio is dedicated to the craft of archival printmaking, bridging the gap between digital precision and tactile artistry. Since 1997, the atelier has focused on transforming digital files into enduring physical masterpieces with technical precision and artisanal care. The studio provides museum-grade reproduction services for artists who require uncompromising archival quality. Their prints have been displayed in the National Gallery, the Smithsonian, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and private collections around the world.

The studio offers Fine Art Scanning at high fidelity, capturing up to 300 ppi at 4'x8' in a 48-bit color space to preserve brushstrokes and paper texture. They produce giclée reproductions on 100% cotton rag and acid-free substrates using pigment-based inks. Services also include prints on canvas using archival-certified poly-cotton blends and high-definition aluminum prints noted for luminosity and scratch resistance. A specialized contour relief printing technique builds physical texture onto surfaces using layered ink and varnish, creating tactile, three-dimensional effects with UV-curable inks that form a durable, polymer-based layer.

All inks are 100% pigment-based for maximum lightfastness. Substrates are acid-free and pH neutral to prevent yellowing. The studio environment is color-managed using custom ICC profiles for every printer and paper combination. The owner personally oversees every scan and print, maintaining a standard of excellence defined by nearly three decades of operation. Artists note the accuracy of color, clarity, and craftsmanship, as well as the willingness to share technical information.

The studio’s long-standing commitment to archival excellence and personalized oversight establishes it as a trusted resource for artists in Hopkins seeking to preserve their work.
