The tiger serves as the symbol of the art, representing the keen alertness of the wakeful tiger and the serenity of the peaceful mind. The curriculum includes the study of Kata and Bunkai, or 分解, which involves the breakdown of movements.

Master Funakoshi experienced the serenity of the peaceful mind while listening to pine waves on Tiger’s Tail Mountain in Okinawa, near his hometown of Shuri. The school’s instruction aligns with the traditional methods established by Master Funakoshi, emphasizing the noble Budo art principles.
