The family-owned and operated campground sits on the shores of Lake Leelanau, a 21-mile long lake in the heart of Michigan's Leelanau Peninsula. It offers 196 sites, each with full hookups including 20, 30, and 50 amp electricity, water, sewer, cable TV, and wireless internet. The park provides a sandy beach with a large, shallow, and safe swimming area, a modern lodge with a large kitchen and wood burning fireplace, and a boat launch with 98 docks available for rent. The park spans 800 feet of lakefront and traces its origins to the 1960s when Ray and Florence Teter started Teter’s Little Finger Beach. Don and Marilyn Wilson purchased the property in 1976, moving from Utica, Michigan, to manage the business. Don, a former field engineer for NCR, and Marilyn, a registered nurse, transformed the dirt-road campground into a modern resort. They renamed it Little Finger Beach Travel Park before changing the name to Lake Leelanau RV Park in 1994 to better reflect the surrounding area. The Wilsons have maintained the park for decades, earning the Leelanau County Business of the Year Award in 2013 and the Outstanding Business Member of the Year award from the Leelanau Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.
Guests enjoy paved roads and pads, new bathrooms, and a variety of amenities including a playground, basketball and volleyball courts, horseshoes, bocce ball, badminton, soccer balls, shuffleboard courts, and a tennis/pickleball court. The park hosts family activities such as nightly kids’ events, ice cream socials, and summer pipe organ concerts. Dogs are permitted on leashes in a designated dog run, and the park features quiet hours from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. The modern lodge includes a big screen with surround sound, and the lake offers crystal clear waters for boating, swimming, fishing, and water sports, with fish including walleye, bass, northern pike, and perch.
Lake Leelanau RV Park combines its long history and family-run hospitality with modern amenities to provide a premier camping experience on the shores of one of Michigan's largest inland lakes.
