Founded in 1946 by Charles J. Randall and Vandel Nielsen, the company began in a 1500 sq. ft. garage on Benton Street before moving to its current location at 1215 S. Lafayette in June 1949. The facility shifted from small appliance and aircraft tooling to larger automotive tooling and dies by the mid 1950s. Over twenty major additions or renovations have expanded the space to 105,800 sq. ft. of manufacturing area and 12,000 sq. ft. of office and engineering space. More than 140 employees work in two shifts to engineer, design, and build metal stamping dies, tools, and fixtures. In May 1997, late owner and CEO Stan Ash received a patent for a Liquid Impact Tool Forming Mold process. On February 17, 2005, the employees purchased the company from the trust of Stan Ash and his wife Blanche, making it a 100% Employee Owned Company. The company maintains membership in the Fabricators & Manufacturers Assoc/International and the Tube & Pipe Assoc.
