The studio was founded in 1981 by Loree Russeau, who began her own dance training at age five and graduated from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor with an emphasis in Education, Dance, Fitness, and Health and Wellness. In 2021, Hillary Adams became the new owner, and the academy was renamed Loree's Academy of Dance. Russeau continues to return to Michigan to choreograph and support the dancers.

The academy moved into a new studio building on July 1, 2023, which features two dance rooms and hosts a Company Dancer program that has previously traveled to Italy for dance seasons. The studio offers a free trial class for new dancers and manages enrollment, payments, and scheduling through a dedicated Parent Portal. The current owner, Hillary Adams, serves as both Owner and Artistic Director, leading the Adult Dance program for those returning to dance or trying something new.

The business holds a 5.00 rating based on customer reviews, reflecting the positive reception of its programs. The long history of student success and scholarship awards demonstrates the quality of instruction provided by the faculty.

Loree's Academy of Dance brings decades of dance expertise and a proven track record of student achievement to the Flint community.
