He attended Hahnemann University Medical School in Philadelphia, now Drexel University, where he led a group that built the largest student-run medical system for the homeless in the country. During his medical training, he was awarded the 807th Daily Point of Light by then-President George Bush. Upon graduation, he received the Daniel Mason Award for Excellence in Cardiology, the Hahnemann Club Award for Academic Excellence, Outstanding Leadership and Loyalty, the Joseph A. Langbord Memorial Prize for Humanitarianism in Medicine, and the Student Affairs Committee Award for Outstanding Service. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta in three years. In 1997, he became Board Certified in Internal Medicine and moved to Annapolis to join Annapolis Internal Medicine.

The office is located at 509 S Cherry Grove Ave, Suite C, Annapolis, MD. It sits on South Cherry Grove Avenue, near Forest Drive, which is a main road just a short distance away. The location is close to the Heritage Learning Center, a school, and the Forest Villa and Heritage neighborhoods.

Dr. Freedman served as Medical Director of the Annapolis Outreach Clinic for 15 years, a group founded by Rich Bernstein, MD and Rich Colgan, MD, that provided health care to people living at the Lighthouse Shelter. During his tenure, he grew the number of participating doctors from 12 to over 150. He was featured on the cover of MD News for his work with the Annapolis Outreach Clinic. His practice in Annapolis continues to focus on direct primary care, urgent care, and specialized therapies like ketamine, serving the local community with personalized medical attention.
