Boston University Medical Center is a medical clinic in Boston, Massachusetts, serving patients through Boston Medical Center, the primary teaching affiliate of the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. The Boston University Medical Campus traces its origins to 1848 as the New England Female Medical College, the first U.S. institution to train women in medicine and graduate a Black female physician. In 1873, it merged with Boston University, becoming the nation’s first coeducational medical school.
