Gift Septic Service is a family-owned and operated business with a history spanning more than 50 years. The company traces its roots to 1960, when Dick Gift founded Gift Construction. Recognizing a preference for working with heavy machinery, dump trucks, and soils, Dick established Gift Septic Service in 1968, initially focusing on septic repair and pumping. In 1970, Dick's son, Art, began assisting his father in the summer months at the age of 10. Art worked daily with his father for several years, learning both the technical aspects of the trade and the importance of customer treatment. After graduating in 1980, Art became a business partner by purchasing the septic pumping division. In 1985, Art acquired the remainder of the company, continuing the family legacy. Dick remained involved in an advisory capacity, visiting job sites daily until his passing in 2005. The company attributes its growth to hiring exceptional employees and treating customers as part of the family, while maintaining a standard of integrity, honesty, and professionalism. Many of the original customers continue to be served by the business today.

The business stands out in the La Porte area for its long-standing family ownership and its high customer satisfaction, reflected in its 4.90 rating and A+ Better Business Bureau standing.
