Central Farm Markets was founded in 2008 by Debra Moser and Mitch Berliner. The organization operates three farm markets across Maryland and DC, including the Pike Central Farm Market, which opened in 2011 as part of the Pike & Rose complex. The mission of the founders is to provide a professionally managed community venue where customers can purchase high-quality, locally grown fresh and prepared food while supporting agricultural innovation, green practices, and sustainability. Each market supports the local community through various activities, events, and programming designed to educate, give back, and fight hunger. The team includes owners Mitch Berliner and Debra Moser, Director of Operations Lynn Kriesten, Market Manager Piyush Rangra, Farmer and Blog Writer Sandra Miller, and Market Concierge Mary Dunton.

The Pike Central Farm Market features over 30 vendors and offers amenities such as table seating, music, local Maryland winery and farm brewery tastings, and chef demonstrations. The 2026 season is scheduled to run on Saturdays from April 25 through November 21, with a special Tuesday Thanksgiving market held on November 24, 2026.
