Joe is a Southwest Iowa native and is active in many community activities. He is the Past Chairman of the Council Bluffs Area Board of Catholic Education and a member of the St. Albert Educational Foundation. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Catholic Tuition Organization and is a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is the Chairman of the Pottawattamie County Compensation Board and a Board Member on the Iowans for School Choice. He is also a long-time mentor in the TeamMates Mentoring Program and a Boys and Girls Tennis Coach for the St. Albert Boys and Girls Varsity Programs.
