CLEAR K9 Academy of Kihei

Founded by Daniel Christian Charles, the academy serves dog owners across the Hawaiian Islands, offering personalized consultations, in-home lessons, and online sessions tailored to dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments. Whether addressing leash pulling, anxiety, socialization, or simply strengthening the bond between human and dog, CLEAR K9 Academy emphasizes understanding the dog’s perspective rather than forcing obedience. The business is known for its calm leadership approach, rooted in dog psychology and real-world application, with a mission to help guardians see the world through their dog’s eyes.

Daniel, the founder, brings extensive experience from working with dogs and their families in San Francisco and Chicago, where he served as a Pet Therapist on Chicago radio and partnered with animal care organizations. He now shares his expertise across Maui, Oahu, and Lanai, regularly appearing on Talkative Radio in Maui. His method centers on teaching guardians to lead with calm energy and consistent routines, using the natural communication signals dogs understand best. The academy’s philosophy, “Don’t change dogs, let dogs change you”, reflects a commitment to fostering mutual respect and balance in every relationship. Training sessions are designed to empower owners with lasting tools, not temporary fixes, and are customized to each dog’s unique needs and lifestyle.

The academy is located in Kihei, HI, on a quiet stretch of road within the heart of Maui’s central coast, surrounded by natural beauty and accessible to residents and visitors across the island.
