Founded in January 1955 through a partnership between W.B. Badger, G.W. Taylor, and A.D. Kidman, Augusta Sash & Door originally operated from Ada Ramp Walden Drive in Augusta, Georgia. The company was officially incorporated on July 24, 1959, after four years of growth. From the outset, its work centered on the manufacturing, assembly, processing, and sales of construction products including windows, doors, moulding, cabinets, and millwork. In 1962, the founders purchased property on Wilkinson Road in Augusta, where they built new facilities including a truss and wall panel plant, door shop, office, and warehouse. Bill Warlick joined the team in 1961 from Howard Lumber Company, and by 1975, Taylor and Warlick had become sole owners, guiding the business with active involvement in youth, civic, and church activities in the community. Augusta Sash & Door has maintained membership in the Construction Suppliers Association, with Warlick serving as a director and trustee. On August 1, 2000, ownership passed to W.J. (Billy) Badger, connecting the company with Howard Lumber Company. Today the business operates as Augusta Sash & Door Sales of Georgia, Inc., with manufacturing, shipping, and warehouse operations on Wilkinson Road and the sales office and showroom housed at Howard Lumber Company.

The Evans location sits on Columbia Industrial Boulevard, roughly half a mile from Riverwatch Parkway and about six-tenths of a mile from the Columbia County Facility Maintenance office. Columbia County Stormwater is nearby, as are Marshall Pond and Mullens Lake, with Washington Road about eight-tenths of a mile away.

Serving builders, contractors, homeowners, and businesses across the CSRA for over 70 years, Augusta Sash & Door combines in-house manufacturing with a dedicated account representative model and project turnaround built around custom residential and commercial work in the Augusta region.
