Pure Flats LLC

Pure Flats LLC is a fishing store in Duluth, GA, located at 2625 N Berkeley Lake Rd NW #100. The business manufactures and sells artificial fishing lures, most notably The Slick Lure, a soft plastic, slow sinking jerk bait designed for shallow saltwater flats, bays, and marshes. The company also produces lures for freshwater species including trout, redfish, snook, bass, crappie, and walleye. Pure Flats partners with a network of professional fishing guides and tournament anglers to promote its products.

The company was founded in 2015 by tournament-winning angler Capt Joey Landreneau, who invented The Slick lure after struggling to cover different areas of the water column and losing treble hook lures while fishing shallow rock flats and grass shorelines on Florida’s Big Bend Nature Coast. The lures are designed to provide weedless options with a realistic, erratic bait movement. In January 2022, Greg Sample joined forces with Landreneau and moved Pure Flats from Gainesville, FL, to Atlanta, GA, to increase operational capability. The company states that its lures are proudly made in the USA, including all tooling and components. Pure Flats also partners with the Bobby Dodd Institute to drive job creation for people with differing abilities.

The brand’s Pro Staff includes experienced captains such as Capt Bobby Abruscato, who holds 40 years of experience and has won multiple Alabama Inshore Trail Championship titles and a world championship. Other staff members include Capt Richard Rutland, a former US Navy veteran and Speckled Trout tournament winner; Capt Patric, a previous Alabama state record holder for Sheepshead; Captain Ricky Kellum, known as the "Speckled Specialist" from Jacksonville, North Carolina; and Captain Hunter, a guide from North Carolina. The company’s lures have won tournaments from the Mississippi Sound to Virginia and have helped anglers set personal best records.
