Westside Martial arts

Westside Martial Arts is a martial arts school in Acworth, GA. It is a family owned and operated school, in business as Burbank Taekwondo School since 2012. Instruction covers Taekwondo (Kukkiwon), high level wrestling and grappling, and training tailored to building athletes. Programs are organized by age: Little Cobras for ages 3 to 6, which develops basic motor and listening skills and prepares children for Taekwondo classes; Taekwondo Kids for ages 6 to 13, an entry to black belt level program that includes belt awards and local competition; and a teen and adult class for ages 13 and up that works toward black belt rank and competition. Wrestling and grappling sessions are open to all ages.

Master Blaise Fitzgerald holds a 7th degree black belt in Chang Moo Kwan and a 6th degree black belt in Kukkiwon. He studied Taekwondo for 19 years in Los Angeles, ran Burbank Taekwondo School in Burbank, CA with his wife for over 8 years, and has been instructing Taekwondo for almost 20 years. He won the 2012 California State USA Taekwondo Championship and was a USA Freestyle wrestler for 12 years in GA, where he earned the title State Champion. He coached high school wrestling and produced several State Champions, and he studied poomsae with Grandmaster Jae Yoon Ahn, head forms instructor at the Kukkiwon.

Master Tara Fitzgerald holds a 5th degree black belt in Kukkiwon. She studied Taekwondo for 17 years in Los Angeles and has been instructing for 12 years. She has taught voice, acting, and dance to children and adults, and she is the main instructor for the Little Cobras program. The school operates two locations, one at Due West Towne Square in West Cobb and one at Cedarcrest at Cobb Parkway in Acworth.

The Acworth location sits on Acworth Dallas Rd NW, about 0.1 miles from Cobb Parkway and Cedarcrest Road, 0.2 miles from Awtrey Church Road, and 0.4 miles from Wellstar Acworth Health Park.
