Toll Road Brewing Company is a brewery in Ocoee, FL. As the first craft brewery in the city, it is a locally owned establishment that brews beer on location. The taproom features a rotating selection of house-made brews and guest taps, available for consumption in the inviting space or for take-away. The business is known for its award-winning beers and hosts a variety of events, including trivia nights, bingo, live music, food trucks, and game nights. The menu also includes wine options, wine slushies, and seltzers.
The brewery’s history began in 2004 with home brewing in a garage, followed by years of attending home brew club meetings to refine their craft. The idea to open a brewery in Ocoee emerged during a 2015 trip where the founders visited many out-of-state breweries. The name was inspired by a conversation with visiting friends about the prevalence of toll roads in central Florida, leading to a logo based on a classic toll booth from the movie Blazing Saddles. The property at 101 W. McKey Street was secured in 2017, with friends and family assisting in the demolition and build-out over the next year and a half. The business opened on June 28, 2018. The team includes owners David, Duane, and Melissa, along with tap room manager Amanda and beertenders Jess, Alysa, Katie, Lillie, and Lauryn. Scott serves as the webmaster.
Toll Road Brewing Company holds a rating of 4.90 based on customer reviews. This positive reception reflects the quality of the locally crafted beer and the community-oriented events held in the Ocoee taproom.
