The business began as a pop-up bar operating in a kitchen off 14th St NW for four years before establishing its current location. Named after the International Zone in Baghdad, the venue is intended to serve as a safe space for guests to be themselves. The drink menu features diverse offerings like the Shi Salbeh, which utilizes Arak and mastic, and the Toufan, a high-proof rum blend featuring Iraqi citrus and pomegranate. The bar also provides a selection of Daiquiris in the style of 1920s-50s Havana, as well as classic tropical drinks like the 1944 Mai Tai and the Zombie. In addition to cocktails, the venue hosts various events, including live DJs playing Arabic, international, and vinyl sets, as well as themed happy hours. Private bookings are available for groups on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Sundays.
