Flatirons Tutoring

Flatirons Tutoring is a Tutoring Service in Golden, CO, located at 8375 Holman St. The business provides one-on-one tutoring, SAT and ACT test prep, and academic coaching for students across the Denver and Boulder metro area, serving families in Denver, Boulder, Arvada, Golden, Lakewood, Westminster, Broomfield, Erie, Louisville, Superior, Lafayette, Centennial, Aurora, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Parker, and Castle Rock. Every student is matched with a subject-specialist tutor and meets in person at a location that works for the family or online, with scheduling that fits around school, sports, and activities. The service helps students learn to read, write, and develop solid arithmetic skills, while content experts help students ace STEM and Humanities courses and develop executive functioning skills to build academic autonomy.

Founded by Cris Chacon, the team includes tutors specializing in Math, Science, Test Prep, Spanish, Humanities, Physics, Chemistry, Life Science, and English. Tutors such as Henry True, Tim Young, Audrey Gould, Zoe Bertino, and others provide instruction for elementary through college-level coursework, including AP and honors classes. The tutoring approach leverages technology to maximize learning efficiency. Since 2018, the tutors have used the free Zoom platform for online sessions, utilizing iPads to screen share a whiteboard through the Notability app. This allows tutors to work through problems with students in real-time, dialoguing just as they would in person. Students send copies or pictures of relevant documents that can be uploaded and annotated on the Notability Whiteboard, and these notes are saved and sent to students as a PDF for future reference.

The business is recognized by Three Best Rated and Tutors.com as one of the best tutoring companies in the Denver Metro area. They offer a referral program where existing customers can earn an hour of free tutoring for referring new students that purchase a tutoring package. The initial consultation is complimentary, and the first session is risk-free, ensuring payment only if the family is satisfied and considers it a good fit. Most inquiries receive a response within 24 hours. The tutors serve students from numerous schools including Golden HS, Fairview HS, Boulder HS, D'Evelyn Jr/Sr High, Regis Jesuit HS, and many others in the region.
