Lightning Press

Lightning Press is a Printing Service in Santa Clara, CA, located at 1085 Memorex Dr. The business provides digital printing, large format printing, and contour cutting services for commercial and personal projects. Their offerings include business cards, postcards, books, event display items, aluminum composite signs, acrylic signs, foamboard, PVC, Gatorboard, wood signs, metal signs, and double-sided brochures. It holds a rating of 4.90 based on customer reviews. The print shop started in 1993 by two brothers and continues to operate without employees, meaning clients deal directly with the owners from initial contact through job completion. The owners previously ran printing presses starting in the early eighties, with family history in the trade tracing back to their grandfather setting up type for letterpress at age 12. In 2021, the business upgraded its equipment to all new Konica Minolta digital presses and a Konica Large format direct to print machine. The facility includes two full color Konica machines and one for black and white printing. They also utilize a full size 5' x 10' Colex Sharpcut machine for contour cutting, which provides precise accuracy to .001 inches for finishing large format products. The owners lease the newest and best equipment available, changing them out every 2 to 3 years, and calibrate all matching Konica Minolta machines together for matching colors on projects. The business is known for its commitment to meeting deadlines, with the owners stating they will not leave for the day until a job is done. This approach has allowed them to fulfill urgent requests, such as producing invites within a 24-hour window or turning around yard signs, metal signs, and brochures in one full day when other companies quoted three to four days. Customers have noted the owners' kind, responsive, and customer-oriented attitude, with one reviewer highlighting a situation where a printout was provided at no charge to resolve an unexpected breakdown. The 4.90 rating reflects the positive experiences of customers who have reviewed the service, particularly regarding the owners' reliability and ability to handle time-sensitive jobs. Lightning Press combines decades of family printing experience with owner-operated service to deliver precise, on-time results for Santa Clara businesses and residents.
