The company was founded in late 2013 by a designer who previously worked as an international flight attendant, ran nightclubs in New York City, worked in real estate, and managed a house-flipping company. Today, it is a California-based interior design studio and lifestyle brand known for creating timeless, collected interiors that feel both elevated and lived-in. The team consists of 20 talented women who have completed hundreds of projects and hold nationally recognized design credentials. In 2019, the business launched The Shop™, a curated retail storefront in Granite Bay featuring custom upholstery, timeless furniture, collected home decor, and one-of-a-kind vintage pieces. The founder’s husband joined the business after leaving a corporate career, supporting the growth of the firm alongside his wife.

The firm’s Interior Architecture Team supports clients from initial plan conceptualization through completion, partnering with builders, architects, and landscape architects to ensure high results in design, beauty, and functionality. Their systems are designed to allow builders to execute the design vision seamlessly. The Furnishings & Decor team helps clients select the perfect furnishings for their lifestyle and home, navigating endless options to create the right seating and floor plans. DSI operates as a furniture retailer, purchasing the majority of furnishings directly through curated manufacturer partnerships. They specialize in large-scale furnishing projects but also offer services for single rooms or phased implementations to align with budgets. Styling services are provided through The Shop for clients who wish to refresh existing spaces with accessories like fresh pillows.
